Maxine C. (Koren) Bertucci, age 87, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Born on April 30, 1938 in Joliet, Illinois, Maxine was the daughter of the late Joseph "Jeff" and Louise (Pilz) Koren. Maxine was married to the love of her life, Robert "Slugger" Jay Bertucci for 50 years until his passing in 2012.

Maxine is survived by her cherished sons, Randy (Debbie) Bertucci, Allan "Harpo" (Jodie) Bertucci and James (Jennifer) Bertucci. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Courtney (Tom) Peterson, Hannah (Eddie) Forsythe and Nikolas Bertucci and her 5 great grandchildren Bradlee and Maisie Forsythe and Kolton, Gunnar and Baylor Peterson. Maxine is also survived by her dear brother, Jay (Shirley) Koren, brother-in-law, George Bertucci, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maxine worked for the Joliet Township High School District office for 25 years in the business office and also managed the Joliet Central Bookstore. She enjoyed a close and lasting friendship with her three co-workers Georgine Platko, Sandra Pawchak and Sharon Sala. They continued their luncheon get-togethers even after they long retired.

Maxine had a wonderful sense of humor and was often the life of the party sharing her many wonderful stories about family, work and friends. Maxine lived at Willow Falls independent living for the past 13 years and looked forward to calling Bingo every other Sunday for the residents.

The family invites relatives and friends to join them for a committal service at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery 20953 W Hoff Road in Elwood, Illinois on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
