Nance Ann Mitok

Nancy Ann Mitok, age 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026.

Born on July 18, 1956, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late John and Marlene (née Smith) Ancel. She was a proud graduate of Joliet Central High School, Class of 1974, and went on to build a dedicated and respected career. Nancy spent much of her professional life as an escrow closer with Chicago Title, where her diligence and warmth left a lasting impression. She also served as an administrative assistant at Timber Ridge Middle School and later worked at Tezak Funeral Home from 2014 to 2022.

Nancy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader, had a deep love for music, and especially enjoyed attending Bob Seger concerts.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mike Mitok; her parents, John and Marlene Ancel; her brother, John Ancel; her grandparents; and several cousins.

Nancy is survived by her cherished children, Jamie Eskridge and Zachary Mitok; her loving siblings, Karen (+ Patrick) Brisco, Jodi (+ John) Ancel, and Randy (Gabriella) Ancel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, be kind to one another and hug someone you love.

Cremation rites have been in accordance with her wishes and burial will be held privately.
