Nancy Kathleen Martinez (nee Sawyer)

Nancy was an avid reader and book lover. She worked for the Joliet Public Library for many years. Anyone who knew her, knows you would never see her without a book in hand. Books, books, and more books were her life.

Proceeded in death by her mother, E. Joan Wittenmyer; step father, James Wittenmyer; and father, William K. Sawyer.

Survived by her loving husband Santiago. Daughters, Cherill (Kendal), Teresa (Brian), Valerie; and son, Santiago (Shannon). Grandchildren, Tristian, Suzanna, Michael, Alexandra, Alysia, Adriana, Patricia, Elizabeth, Christifer, Jacobo, Jonathan, Emilia, and Ophelia. Great-grandson, Carlos. Also survived by three sisters, a brother as well as friends and family.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
