Octavio "Moré" Calderon

Octavio "Moré" Calderon, age 68, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in Naperville, Illinois.

Octavio was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend whose greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He especially cherished his grandchildren and treasured every moment shared with them. He had a deep love for his beloved horse, Remache, and found happiness in the simple pleasures of ranch life. Octavio enjoyed spending time in Mexico, where he embraced the beauty of the land, the warmth of family traditions, and the peace of his ranch.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Estefania Calderon; his mother, Julia Alvarez; his sister, Grabiela Calderon; and his cherished granddaughter, Emily Amaya.

Left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving children: Gilberto (Sofia) Calderon, Maricela (Horacio) Amaya, Omar (April) Calderon, Sandra (Gilberto) Mares, Jaime (Lizbeth) Calderon, and Jesus (Alicia) Calderon.

He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Olivia Diaz, Daniel Calderon, David Calderon, Ivan Calderon, Erik Garcia, Anthony Garcia, Andres Amaya, Cristian Mares, Monserrat Mares, D'Angelo G. Calderon, Catalina I. Calderon, and Lilianna A. Calderon.

Also mourning his passing is his loving father, Santiago Calderon, along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.

Octavio will be remembered for his strong spirit, dedication to his family, love of horses, and the pride he took in his ranch and heritage. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply and the memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.

Though he will be greatly missed, his love, strength, and values will continue to guide and inspire his family for generations to come.

A celebration of Octavio’s life will be held with visitation on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11:30 am at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 404 N Hickory St, Joliet, IL with burial to follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery, 1320 E Cass St, Joliet, IL

Octavio Calderón, de 68 años de edad, falleció pacíficamente el Sábado 30 de Mayo de 2026 en Naperville, Illinois.

Octavio fue un padre, abuelo y amigo devoto, cuya mayor alegría en la vida era pasar tiempo con su familia. Amaba especialmente a sus nietos y atesoraba cada momento compartido con ellos. Tenía un profundo cariño por su querido caballo, Remache, y encontraba felicidad en los sencillos placeres de la vida en el rancho. Octavio disfrutaba pasar tiempo en México, donde apreciaba la belleza de la tierra, la calidez de las tradiciones familiares y la tranquilidad de su rancho.

Le precedieron en la muerte su amada esposa, Estefanía Calderón; su madre, Julia Álvarez; su hermana, Grabiela Calderón; y su querida nieta, Emily Amaya.

Dejan para honrar y atesorar su memoria sus amados hijos: Gilberto (Sofía) Calderón, Maricela (Horacio) Amaya, Omar (April) Calderón, Sandra (Gilberto) Mares, Jaime (Lizbeth) Calderón y Jesús (Alicia) Calderón.

También le sobreviven sus queridos nietos: Olivia Díaz, Daniel Calderón, David Calderón, Iván Calderón, Erik García, Anthony García, Andrés Amaya, Cristian Mares, Monserrat Mares, D'Angelo G. Calderón, Catalina I. Calderón y Lilianna A. Calderón.

También lamentan profundamente su partida su querido padre, Santiago Calderón, junto con numerosos familiares y entrañables amigos cuyas vidas fueron tocadas por su bondad, sabiduría y amor inquebrantable.

Octavio será recordado por su espíritu fuerte, su dedicación a la familia, su amor por los caballos y el orgullo que sentía por su rancho y sus raíces. Su legado perdura a través de la familia que tanto amó y de los recuerdos que creó con quienes tuvieron la fortuna de conocerlo.

Aunque será profundamente extrañado, su amor, fortaleza y valores continuarán guiando e inspirando a su familia por muchas generaciones.

Una celebración de la vida de Octavio se llevará a cabo con velación el Viernes 5 de Junio de 2026, de 4:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., en Tezak Funeral Home, ubicado en 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL.

La Misa de Funeral Cristiano se celebrará el Sábado 6 de Junio de 2026 a las 11:30 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica San Juan Bautista, ubicada en 404 N. Hickory St., Joliet, IL. Posteriormente, se realizará el sepelio en el Cementerio Mt. Olivet, ubicado en 1320 E. Cass St., Joliet, IL.
