In Loving Memory of Patricia “Pat” Moorman (née Mewes)
Sunrise: May 27, 1955 – Sunset: August 12, 2025
With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Patricia “Pat” Moorman (née Mewes) age 70, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all creatures great and small. She departed this world peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones.
Pat was preceded in death by her father Henry Mewes, her husband Douglas Moorman, and her brother Dennis Mewes.
Born with a heart as wild and warm as the animals she adored, Pat was the proud matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her four children, Carol (Darick) Starr, Keith (Judy) Pocius, Tod (Leatha) DeSonia, and Kevin Pocius; as well as nineteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Her home was a sanctuary, not only for her family, but also for an extraordinary variety of animals who happened to find Pat’s protection just when they needed it most. Over the years, she lovingly cared for many dogs, cats, a rat, snake, horse, skunk, donkey, chickens, fish, and a dazzling array of exotic birds. Her connection to animals was instinctive and profound—she saw beauty in every feather, paw, and scale.
She found delight in the thrill of bingo nights, the rhythm of her favorite music, and the quiet fun of computer games
Though she has left this Earthly plane, her spirit lives on—in the songs she loved, the games she played, the animals she nurtured, and the family she built with love and care.
Rest in peace, Pat. You were truly one of a kind.
