Paul A Heinzel

Paul A. Heinzel D.M.D. Age 51. Passed away suddenly Friday, March 31, 2006, due to injuries he sustained in an automobile accident in Las Vegas, NV. Survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Pamela S. (nee Johnson) Heinzel; his daughter, Meredith; and son, Daniel. Loving son of Kenneth P. and the late Marguerite (nee Simpson) Heinzel. He also leaves behind his sister, Debra Heinzel; and his brother, Thomas (Sara) Heinzel; as well as a large extended family. Born and raised in Joliet, Paul practiced dentistry for 25 years at Heinzel & Bebar Dental Care (formerly Heinzel & Spreitzer). A 1972 graduate of Joliet West, he received his undergraduate education in microbiology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He graduated from the Southern University of Illinois of Dental Medicine with a D.M.D. He is a former president of the Kiwanis Club of Joliet, and volunteered at the Will-Grundy Medical Clinic, as well as for the Joliet West music programs. An Illini fan with a successful dental practice, Paul has a larger group of friends who will dearly miss his humor, his good nature, his beautiful voice, and his love of family, friends, fishing, and his profession. Funeral arrangements have been delayed to provide Pamela with recovery time from the injuries she sustained in the accident. Heinzel will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church on Houbolt Rd. & Jefferson St. in Joliet. He will lie-in-state on Saturday at the church from 12:00 noon until time of services. As per Paul's request, Cremation Rites will be accorded following the services, and he will be interred at Woodlawn Memorial Park in a Private Ceremony at a later date. Visitation and Video Tribute will be Friday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
