Ralph R. Denewellis, Jr.

Age 87 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Lightways Hospice Care with family by his side.

Born December 31, 1935 in Collinsville, Illinois, Ralph was the son of Ralph, Sr. and Ethel (Barley) Denewellis. He joined the United States Army and honorably served his country. Ralph, Jr. will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

He is survived by his wife: Janette Denewellis (nee Surges); four children: Russell Denewellis (Angie Caldwell), Nancy (Randy) Varju, Pamela (Carl) Walls and Raymond Denewellis (Vicki Varju); eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents: Ralph, Sr. and Ethel; sisters: Betty (James, Jr.) Berta, Charlotte Denewellis and Grace Ann Smith; son: Rudy Denewellis, III; grandson: Rudy Denewellis, IV, and daughter-in-law: Joan Hein.

Per Ralph’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

A private interment will be held at a later date and Ralph will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
