Rebecca “Becky” Orasco passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, quiet strength, kindness, and warmth. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, former colleagues, and the many students whose lives she touched.

A proud 1975 graduate of Joliet Central High School, Becky dedicated more than 30 years of her life to education before retiring in 2016. She began her teaching career at Hufford Junior High. In 2000, she joined the Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) department at Joliet West High School, where she shared her knowledge and passion for practical life skills through courses in Foods and Fashion. She also served as a traveling teacher, teaching a class at Joliet Central High School.

Through her patience, encouragement, and genuine care for her students, Becky made a lasting impact on countless young people and fellow educators throughout the Joliet community. Education was more than a career for Becky—it was a way to make a difference in the lives of others.

A faithful servant throughout her life, Becky held God close to her heart. Her deep faith was the cornerstone of her life and guided the kindness, compassion, and generosity she showed to those around her.

Beyond the classroom, Becky was a passionate quilter. She found great joy in selecting fabrics, stitching intricate designs, and creating beautiful handmade pieces filled with love and care. Some of her happiest memories were made during annual sewing retreats with her dear friends, where laughter, shared patterns, creativity, and cherished companionship filled their days. The quilts and handmade creations Becky lovingly made will remain treasured keepsakes and lasting reminders of her beautiful spirit.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Orasco and Angela Orasco, and her brother, Thomas Orasco Jr.
