Robert “Bob” D. McIntosh
Age 91 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Care in Joliet surrounded by family.
Born September 7, 1930 in Waukegan, IL, Bob was the son of Roland and Mary Jane (White) McIntosh. He was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Township High School - class of 1948. Following graduation, Bob enlisted and proudly served in the United States Navy during the conflict in Korea. After his time in the service, he met the love of his life, Anna Marie Lopartz, and on February 16, 1957 they were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet. Together they would make a home and raise their family. Bob worked as a machine operator for over 30 years with Caterpillar and retired in 1986.
Bob enjoyed staying active and in recent years spent his time working out at Body Tech Fitness. His passion was fishing and he spent numerous summers in Hackensack, MN. He also enjoyed watching a good football game on any given Sunday, but his most treasured times were spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his three sons: Joseph McIntosh (Jill Maguire), Andrew (Andrea) McIntosh and James (Jaime) McIntosh; three grandchildren: Amy McIntosh, Deanne (Joseph) Herman and Cameron McIntosh and one great-granddaughter: Mackenzie Herman.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years: Anna Marie; parents: Roland and Mary Jane and his beloved beagle: Mabel.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Lightways Hospice Care for the exemplary care they provided.
A private service will be held and Bob will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
