Rory A. Rauman

Rory Alan Rauman, age 66, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Born on October 9, 1959, in Joliet, Illinois. He was a proud graduate of Joliet East High School, class of 1977.

Rory was a Union Laborer with Local 75 before retiring from Gallagher Asphalt. Throughout his life, he was passionate about baseball and an avid Chicago White Sox fan. He played in Belmont Little League, Ingalls Park Athletic Club, Pony League, and Joliet East High School.

Rory will be remembered as a kind hearted, fun loving man who truly enjoyed life. He cherished his family and friends, and he was fortunate to have many of both. Rory could often be found listening to music and sharing laughs with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eino J. Rauman and Carmen M. Rauman (née Fonseca), as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Kim R. (David) Matuszewski and Gaelyn Rauman; his nephews, Austin Sutton and Caine Sutton; Joshua Bishop, whom Rory lovingly raised as a son; his uncle, Stephen Fonseca; along with numerous aunts, cousins, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rory’s name to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

A celebration of Rory’s life will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Catholic prayers will be held in the funeral home chapel at 6:45 p.m. Per Rory’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded following visitation.
