Ruth J. Haggerty, nee Pemberton, 86, of Joliet, born October 21, 1924 at rest April 17, 2011. Loving mother of John W. (Debbie) and Julie (Arthur) Paul; dear grandmother of Thomas (Sherry) Welch, Kathy and Lisa Heller, Shaun (Cindy), Jason (Jenny), Ryan and Timothy Haggerty; great grandmother of 7; caring sister of Walter H. (Marilyn) Pemberton.
Preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Haggerty in 1963; daughters Barbara J. Welch and Janet E. Heller in 2009 and parents Mildred and Walter Pemberton.
Ruth was involved in several retiree and civic organizations in the area. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children"s Hospital, Joliet Area Community Hospice, or Hines Veteran"s Hospital.
A Celebration of Ruth"s life will begin on Wednesday April 20 at 7 pm at the funeral home chapel. Interment service will be held privately. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm on Wednesday at:
