Sharon A. Delrose (née Hill) age 83, passed away on January 27, 2026 at the Alden Courts of Shorewood. She was born to her father Richard Hill and her mother Mary Lois Hill (née Feeney) on May 6, 1942 in Joliet, IL.
Sharon was born, raised, and educated in Joliet, IL. She attended grade school at the Cathedral of Saint Raymond School, and high school at the Saint Francis Academy. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan throughout her life, as well as having been a proud longtime Chicago Bears season ticket holder. Her love of athletics was obvious to all who knew her. She stayed active throughout her life as a regular bowler for over fifty years and a dedicated golfer. She and her husband Joseph shared the most wonderful group of friends for more than sixty years. She was the most caring and devoted grandmother of ten grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to five more great-grandchildren. Anyone who knew Sharon well, knew that her signature afternoon cocktail was a 7 and 7. It set a perfect tone for the transition from day to evening, and her natural strength of character ensured that her ability to enjoy a cocktail never became a cause for concern. Her loving children can most assuredly picture Mom and Dad together again, side by side, Mom with her 7 and 7 and Dad with his Vodka Martini, settling into their comfortable chairs to watch the beautiful family that they created continue to grow and thrive.
She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Mary Lois; her husband of forty-seven years Joseph A. Delrose; and her brother Robert (the late Shirley) Hill.
Sharon is survived by her loving children Kristine (Louis III) Lakota and Brian (Darleen) Delrose; her grandchildren Ryan, Brady (Kassy), and Allyson (Justin) Lakota, Stephanie (Greg), Tiffany, and Brittany Delrose, and Tyler and Bailey (Jon) Delrose; and her great-grandchildren Jeret, Brynleigh, Rylynn, Beckham, and Maverick. The family would also like to offer a special note of gratitude to Kelley Hale, who started out as a caregiver for Sharon in her later years, but in the end became a treasured member of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate that any donations offered in Sharon’s name be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital via https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html.
