Sharon A. McMillin (nee Ahearn)

Age 77 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at her home with her family by her side.

Born on September 4, 1946 in Chicago, Sharon grew-up in Lockport where she attended Milne/Kelvin Grove and graduated from Lockport High School with the class of 1964. She lived in Crest Hill and Joliet, and worked for Homer 33C at L.J. Schilling as a Librarian and Hadley as their secretary. Sharon enjoyed traveling with family and friends.

Survived by her loving husband of 57 years: Lawrence J. McMillin; daughter: Dawn (Michael) Morfoot; her dear grandsons: Connor and Evan Morfoot; sister: Patricia (late Richard) Gordon; bothers and sisters-in-law: Mike (Melody) McMillin, Mark (Nancy) McMillin, Maureen (John) Howaniec, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son: Greg McMillin; parents: Bob and Mary Ahearn; her in-laws: Jim and Addie McMillin; brother and sister-in-law: Jim and Sherie Hammer; brother-in-law: Richard Gordon, and nephews: Jimmy Hammer and Patrick McMillin.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lightways Hospice and to her special caregivers: Lori, Gloria, Robin and Vicki that lovingly cared for her.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. A private interment will be held at a later date and Sharon will be laid to rest at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as gifts in Sharon’s name to the American Lung Association or to Shriners Children’s Chicago.
