Shaun Marie Vargas

Age 54 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at her home with family by her side.

Born March 7, 1968 in Joliet, Shaun Marie was a daughter of Leroy and Mary (Kaiser) Schomig. Shaun enjoyed playing bingo, but her most treasured times were always spent with her friends and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her three children: Matthew Taylor, Megan Taylor and Stephanie Taylor; fourteen grandchildren: David, L, Jasmine, Alex, Jose, Matthew, Sienna, Delilah, Harley, Oakleigh, Sonny Ray, Ellie Mae, Nevaeh and Trevor; sisters: Kathleen Clark and Tiah (Brett) Phillips; brothers: Roger (Deb) Clark, Shane (Victoria) Schomig, and Kris (Sheena) Schomig, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews including: Teddy Lucas and Fred Kaanapu.

Shaun is preceded in death by her mother: Mary Clark; father: Leroy Schomig; son: David Scott Taylor, Jr.; sisters: Sandra Pacheco and Joan Beacham, and brother: Joe Clark.

Family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. A celebration of Shaun’s life will continue on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 with a gathering from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow and Shaun will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Joliet.
