Suzanne "Sue" Valek

Suzanne “Sue” Valek, 70, passed away Monday, January 27th at Lightways Hospice Care Center in Joliet after an extended illness. 

She is survived by her three children, Amy Tezak, Sarah Tezak, Christopher Tezak (Stephanie Schuster); grandson, Alexander “Sasha” Rodrigue; brother, John “Jay” Valek; half-sister, Beth Ann (Anthony) DiBartolomeo; step-mother, Loretta (nee Dunajewski) Valek; niece, Kylie Bruggeman; nephew, Joshua Bruggeman many extended family, beloved friends, and millions of poticia lovers. 

Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia (nee Shimek) Valek (1973); her father, John James “Busa” Valek (2020); and her sister Sally Jane Bruggeman (2010).

Sue was known by many as a first class baker, potter, gardener, accountant, cook, rock hound, actor, free spirit, royal pain in the butt hootin' hollerin’ Queen BBAS, friend, sister and mom.

Following Sue’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded and her cremains will travel with her children to her favorite places on earth. 

Many thanks to all her friends and caregivers who cared for her these last few years. We are so grateful to you all for supporting our family through this journey.
