Thomas E. Hucik A�??GrandpaA�?i��, age 90, of Joliet, at rest on December 20, 2012 at home with his family by his side. Beloved husband of 65 years to Helen C. Hucik (nee Slucki); loving father of Carol (Bernie) Riegel and Joyce (Daniel) Conner; dear grandfather of Jeffrey (Shavon) Conner, Brian (Angela) Conner and Katie (Chris) Lowe; beloved great-grandfather of Talan, Reed and Kinsley Conner; brother of Margaret (the late John) Slucki; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father, Matthew Hucik; his mother, Mary (nee Benicky) Hucik-Sablatura; sister, Irene (Arthur) Jahnke.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Joliet. He worked for U.S. Steel for 43 years, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. Life member of the VFW Cantigny Post #367, Joliet Moose #300 and past member of the MarinerA�??s Club. TomA�??s retirement was spent with his grandchildrenA�?A�.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice.

A Celebration TomA�??s life will begin on December 27, 2012 at 10:15 am with prayers at the funeral home chapel then moving in procession to Holy Cross Church, Joliet, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of prayers at TezakA�??s Home to Celebrate Life.
