Thomas Paul Piskur

Thomas "Tom" Paul Piskur, age 83, of Joliet IL, passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice.

His memory lives on by his son and daughter-in-law, Greg Piskur and Teresa Alvarado-Piskur; his 3 grandchildren, Gregory Jr, Anna, and Tyler Piskur; his sisters, Judy Pomatto and Mary Ellen Head; his sister-in-law, Joan Piskur; nieces and nephews, Clara Witte, Keith Piskur, Jason and Lara Pomatto; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceded in Death by his parents, Joseph and Anne Piskur; his brothers, Joe and Lawernce “Larry” Piskur; and his partner of 20 years, Jyme Johnson.

Tom was a veteran, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as an Ophthalmologist Assistant. As a proud alumnus of Joliet Catholic Academy, Tom gave back by volunteering and regularly cheering on the football team at games. He also enjoyed gardening, running, playing guitar and lending his voice to the Saint Jude’s and later Saint Paul's choir. Occasionally DJing at church picnics.

Tom was a very special, sweet, and thoughtful man who knew how to brighten up a room. He was the kind of guy who always made you smile and laugh. Especially with his special brand of humor.

A memorial visitation will be held at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet on Saturday June 28, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. to conclude visitation.
