Thomas A. Shroba
Age 77, peacefully at rest on Monday, January 12, 2009. Survived by his wife Marie (nee Pleski) Shroba; five children Michael (Kimberley), Stephen, David (Jennifer), Mary Kay (Mark) Ruettiger, Jean (George) Czart; thirteen grandchildren Christopher, Kate and Eliza Shroba; Brittany, Jacob, Lauren and Madison Shroba; Matthew, Joshua, Kyle and Cassie Ruettiger, Jenna and Julia Czart; one sister Anne (John) Zak; sisters-in-law Emerzia Shroba and Mary Shroba. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Kristina and Ignatius Shroba; brothers Joseph, John (late Charlotte), Aloysius and two brothers in infancy. Born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident. Veteran of the Korean War. Retired from Commonwealth Edison in 1992. Member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary Magdalene Church, Knights of Columbus Council #382 and a lifetime member of Stone City VFW Post #2199. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas" name to St. Mary Magdalene Church would be appreciated.
From where services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 9:30 AM to St. Mary Magdalene Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment with full Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
