Timothy R. Selfridge

July 28, 1944 — May 2, 2026

Timothy R. Selfridge, 81, of loving memory, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, with his devoted wife by his side. Born on July 28, 1944, Tim lived a life marked by warmth, generosity, and an unmistakable gift for connecting with the people around him.

Tim is survived by Joyce Selfridge, his beloved wife of 55 years, whose presence brought him comfort and joy until his final moments. He was a proud and devoted father to his sons Chad Selfridge (Kerri) and Scott Selfridge (Julie), and a cherished grandfather to Jake and John. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah Abens (Jim), and his sister-in-law, Maureen Selfridge, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Doris Selfridge, his brothers Greg and Mark, and his brother and sister-in-law, Dan “Bink” Janovyak and Diane Janovyak, whose memories he carried with him always. He is also remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins, who knew him as a steadfast and caring presence in their lives.

Those who knew Tim knew a man who could strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them feeling like an old friend. Whether he was tending to his beloved yard — which he kept with pride and care — or simply sitting with family on a warm afternoon, Tim had a way of making every moment feel worthwhile. He had a rare and genuine interest in people, and no one who crossed his path left without feeling seen.

Tim’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and the quiet dedication of a man who put his family first. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family would like to offer a special note of gratitude to the staff at Eden Vista of Rock Run-MC and Lightways Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.

There will be no formal service, but a celebration of life will be held at a future date. In memory of Timothy, donations may be made to Lightways Hospice.
