Victoria Mescha, age 86, a longtime resident of Shorewood, Illinois, at rest on Monday, July 28, 2025. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to parents, Josephine and Onofrio Loconsole on April 11, 1939.
Victoria loved life and embraced it with a young-at-heart spirit. She was an avid bowler, participating in several leagues over the years, and had a passion for travel that took her to many corners of the world. Music brought her joy — she loved concerts and musical events of all kinds. Even recently, she continued to work part-time doing wine and spirit sampling, always engaging with life and others with warmth and enthusiasm. One of Victoria’s greatest joys was cooking for her family. She was an exceptional cook, and her love for those around her was felt in every meal she prepared and every dessert she lovingly baked.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 44 years, Terrence Mescha; her children, George (Theresa) Simon, Jacqueline Simon-Owens, Nikolas (Wanda) Simon and William (Kathleen) Simon; grandchildren, Andrea (Britt) Vore and Nicholas (Emilie) Simon; Michael (Mindy) Skocz, Lisa (Marcus) Owens-Marin and Robert (Ashley) Owens; Anthony Simon, Autumn (Chris Dye) Simon and Alex (Amber Sickles) Simon; and Will Simon; stepson, Lawrence (Melanie) Mescha; stepdaughter, Tracy (Chriss) Mescha; 12 beautiful great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters, seven brothers and two brothers in infancy.
Her energy and love for life and her family will be missed — deeply and dearly.
A celebration on Victoria’s life will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet with a memorial visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Per Victoria’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
