Wilbert Leon Williams

July 17, 1946 — December 19, 2022

This is to honor Leon Williams, who lost his battle with Parkinson’s last Monday evening.  He fought bravely, and always with hope.

Leon served in the US Army and is a proud veteran of the Vietnam war.  He studied at CSU/Fresno and worked at Community Regional Medical Center as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and shift supervisor.  When he retired, Leon moved to Saint Peters, MO where he enjoyed working around the house, gardening, antiquing, cooking and trying new recipies.  (Leon was a good eater, especially sweets!)

Leon had a kind and generous heart.  He loved animals and being outdoors.   His superpower was his sense of humor.  Leon was able to know when you were down, and he could always make you feel better.   He will live forever in our hearts, and will never be further than a thought away.

Military services and internment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, 7201 Archer Rd in Justice, IL commencing at 1:00pm on Tuesday December 27, 2022.

Leon is survived by his daughter: Greta (Day) and son: John, along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and many close friends.

“Forgive everyone,

And don’t forget yourself.

Letting go of the past hurts.

Feelings of resentment or revenge are worthless.  They only drag you down.

The courage to forgive and move on is so liberating.  Make it a rule –always be the first to forgive.

Now move forward, yesterday has past.  Learn by your mistakes and tomorrow will be better”.

-Leon Williams
