Wilbur H. Brookman, Jr., age 69, at rest on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.
Wilbur is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Mary Ann Brookman (nee Jahneke); loving children, Lorraine (Scott) Offerman and James (fiancee Christina) Brookman; cherished grandchildren, Tony and Jason Offerman; sister, Betty (Don) Axelsen; brother, Dan (Kathy) Brookman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Marie (Barten) Brookman; and sister, Phyllis Brookman.
Wilbur served proudly in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966. He was a truck driver for over 20 years and was employed at IDOT for 8 years until retiring. Wilbur loved to play golf and was an avid White Sox and Blackhawks fan. Wilbur will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Wilbur's life will begin on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service to be held at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL.
