William “Bill” P. Wysocki of Joliet, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 15, 2026 while surrounded by his loving family.
William was born in Joliet on April 5, 1947 to Raymond Wysocki and Charlotte Wysocki (née Janiszewski). He was a lifelong Joliet resident, devout catholic and longtime parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Joliet. He served his country honorably while stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War from March of 1966 until February of 1969 with the U.S. Army, earning him a National Defense Service Medal, and he was proud to have been a member of the IBEW Local #176 for fifty-five years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time in his garden, fishing, and he was a hot rod enthusiast. His most treasured times were always spent with his family. Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and never forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra and his parents Charlotte and Raymond.
Bill is survived by his sons Edward (Dorann) Wysocki, Micheal (Lisa) Wysocki and Steven (Lisa) Wysocki; grandchildren William, Evan, Kari, Jason, Kirsten, Zoe, Samantha and Drake Wysocki; brother John (Linda) Wysocki; sisters Barbara J. (the late Ken) Lundberg and Kimberly (Patrick) Wysocki-Buss; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per Bill’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 830 Elizabeth Street in Joliet. Inurnment will follow when William will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd. Elwood, Illinois.
