William Butthajit, age 64, passed away on October 7, 2026. He was born on January 2, 1962, in Luang Prabang, Laos, to Pheng Butthajit and Pheng Butthajit.

William will be remembered for his big personality, wonderful sense of humor, love of music, and the joy he brought to the lives of those around him.

William attended Joliet Central High School and went on to work as a pressman at Perfect Plastic Printing. He was a proud member of the Lao Community of Joliet, where he shared a connection to his heritage and community.

A man of many passions, William had a special love for aircraft and aviation. Music was another important part of his life, and he enjoyed playing guitar in a band. Whether through music or conversation, William had a way of bringing people together. Known as a huge jokester, he loved making people laugh and had a gift for turning ordinary moments into memorable ones.

One of William's greatest passions was his beloved 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo, a car that reflected his unique personality and love for automobiles. He enjoyed the things that made life exciting and meaningful, always bringing his own character and humor to the experiences he cherished.

Above all, William loved his family. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, cherished memories, and stories that will continue to be shared for generations. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the laughter he inspired will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

William was preceded in death by his parents, Pheng Butthajit and Pheng Butthajit; his sister, Vanh Butthajit; and his brother, Sou Butthajit.

William leaves behind his loving wife, Pam Butthajit, who shared in his life and many treasured memories.

He is also survived by his daughters, Paly (David) Butthajit-Guzman and Vicky (Alex) Butthajit-Flinn; his beloved grandchildren, Mila and Tyson; and his cherished granddog, Henry.

He will also be remembered by his brothers and sister, Srisuphon, Vat, Chit, Sommai, Pawn, and Somsanit, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

A celebration of Williams life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 PM at Tezak funeral home, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, IL. Cremation will follow in accordance.
