David J. Harrison

Age 69 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Care in Joliet with his family by his side.

Born February 11, 1953 in Joliet, Dave was a son of Duard and Collette (Stuckel) Harrison. He was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Catholic High School with the class of 1971. Following graduation, Dave attended Joliet Junior College and earned an Associate of Arts Degree in nursing. Outside of his work, Dave was an avid outdoors man and was happiest when casting a line to reel in his next big catch or waiting patiently in a tree stand. Dave was also an expert marksman and won several trophies for target shooting as well as being skilled in the game of horseshoes. His most treasured times were spent with his wife Judy and being surrounded by his extended family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dave is survived by his wife of 49 years: Judy Harrison; siblings: Greg Harrison, Michelle (Mike) Nowak, Pamela Miller, Valerie (Chuck) Gorman, Sandy (Bill) Stegmaier and Jennifer M Fortier; sister-in-law: Joyce Holden; god children: Melissa (Adam) Singer, Mackenzie and Devin Singer, Todd Holden, and Bryce and Blake Holden, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Duard and Collette, sister: Sheila Harrison; brothers-in-law: Wayne Miller and Edwin Sokolowski, and mother-in-law: Lottie Matile.

A service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 200 W Romeo Road in Romeoville.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lightways Hospice staff for the wonderful care they provided to David in his last days.
