Dean E. Johnson

Dean E. Johnson, age 54, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 with his loving family and friends by his side.

Dean is survived by his loving wife, Jannine Ficarella Johnson; children, Drew (Cindy) Moody, James Johnson, Garrett (Ashley) Moody, Alexandria Johnson and Desiree (Joe Zepeda) Moody; grandchildren, Jerome Johnson, Blake Johnson, Lola Schottenloher, Rosalia Moody, Annabelle Konefal, Abigail Moody, Gabriella Diaz, Garrett Jr. Moody and Luna Johnson; father, James  (Carol) Johnson; mother, Penny (Fred) Podlenski; sisters, Jaimie (Fletch Ready) Johnson and Laura (Pat DeAngelo) Davidson; dearest friends, Richard Morfoot, Mike “Levo” Lewandowski, Allen and Ken McGlothlin, Pat Stone and Herbert Dowler. Numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by his brother, David Davidson; maternal grandparents, Robert and Joyce Dowse; paternal grandparents, Irlene and Emil Johnson.

Dean loved his family, his children and grandchildren gave him great joy. He loved his garage; it was his man cave and his happy place. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed tinkering with his “toys” in the garage. Dean always found himself in numerous ongoing projects. He was always up for a family gathering and a cookout. He lived and enjoyed every day to its fullest potential. He was a member of the Wilmington Moose and formerly a long standing member of the Lockport Moose.

A celebration of Dean’s life will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. A service will conclude the visitation at 2:30 p.m. Per Dean’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded following visitation.
