Delores M. Tomazic

Age 96 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Lakewood Nursing Home in Plainfield.

Born May 19, 1926 in Joliet, Delores was a daughter of Francis and Mary (Klancher) Glavan. She was raised and educated in Joliet and in her younger years worked for Gerlach Barklow Greeting Card Company as a sorter. Delores married Louis Tomazic and together they made a home and raised their family. She was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet. In her free time she enjoyed making lovely ceramics and flower gardening, but most of all taking care of her family. Delores will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Louis Tomazic who passed away in 2009; sons: David and Mark; parents: Mary and Francis Glavan; sister: Georgene Burns and brother: Dennis Glavan, Sr.

Delores is survived by her sister-in-law: Carolyn M. Tomazic Engers; nieces: Valerie (Dave) Sarrazin, Lisa (George) Paulson, and Denise (Steve) Sellers, and nephew: Tom Burns.

Per Delores’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

A private interment will be held at a later date and Delores will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet.
