Frank E. Asa

Age 83, formerly of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2021 at his daughter's home in Glenpool, Oklahoma with his family by his side after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Survived by his children: Gene (Carol) Asa, Shawn (Robert) Rhea, Vicki (Johnny) Chambless and Lisa Scarabino; Beloved grandchildren: Corey (Sarah) Asa, Jesse (Schmikia) Gomez, Stephanie (Christian) Kidd, Joshua Asa Chambless, John Louis Chambless, Joseph (Ceceilia) Chambless and Vanessa and Nicholas Scarabino, and eleven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Rodriguez and step-father, Albert Rodriguez, and uncles: Emil, Victor, Henry, Cruz, and Alfred Asa.

Frank was born in Joliet, Illinois on February 9, 1938.  He retired from Lockport Township High School where he worked as a custodian for many years.  Frank was an avid Cubs fan and loved to ride his Tony and Jetson electric bikes. He also enjoyed working out and going for walks.  When it was time to rest, he enjoyed watching old western movies.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. Interment will follow and Frank will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Joliet.
