Gregory Michael Caretto

Gregory Michael Caretto, age 58, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease at Lightways Hospice Care Center in Joliet with his mother by his side.

Born on August 10, 1964, in Joliet, Illinois.  Greg attended Troy Schools and Joliet West High School. He was an avid musician with incredible talent for playing the drums and guitar. His favorite band was The Beatles and he enjoyed going to concerts with his family.  Greg was happiest when he was listening to music by The Beatles. He was a free spirit.

Preceded in death by his grandparents: George Budzinski and Mildred Budzinski Ginnetti, and John and Loretta Caretto, and step-grandfather: Buno Ginnetti.

Greg is survived by his mother: Georgia Snyder; father: Michael (Jo Ann) Caretto; brother: Scott Caretto, and sisters: Gia (Alex) Jaskula and Mia (Wayne) Morris, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and his favorite pet: “The Boo dog.”

A private celebration of Greg’s life was held at Tezak Funeral Home in Joliet. He was laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Joliet.
