Humberto Mata

Humberto Mata, age 67, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Mata; children, Dalila (Efrain) Davila, Gloria Illiana (Silvino) Cuevas, Areli (Victor) Renteria and Samuel Mata; grandchildren, Itzel, Chabela, Napo, Sam, Melanie, Nico, Victoria, Alyna, Sebastian, Noel, Adrian, Khloe, Sophia, Zoe and Layla; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his mother, Margarita Magallon Contreras; and his father, Silvestre Mata Madrigal.

Humberto will be remembered as a very loving, caring, and humble husband, father, and “Pempa” to all his grandchildren. He loved gardening, fishing and was always ready for a game of cards. Above all else he loved spending time with his family. He had a huge heart and appreciated every single family member and friend regardless of distance or time spent apart. Humberto always enjoyed helping others with any situation they had regardless of his experience with different topics. He was always a strong man that was determined to find a solution to every problem- big or small. His strength was tested multiple times as he fought cancer for the last nine years of his life up until his last breath. His family and those closest to him will always remember the amazing fighter he was.

A celebration of Humberto’s life will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest at the family cemetery in El Tulillo, Jalisco, Mexico.

Humberto Mata, de 67 años, falleció el domingo 27 de junio de 2021 en su casa con su amada familia a su lado.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Gloria Mata; hijas/o, Dalila (Efraín) Davila, Gloria Illiana (Silvino) Cuevas, Areli (Víctor) Rentería y Samuel Mata; nietos, Itzel, Isabel Chabela, Napo, Sam, Melanie, Nico, Victoria, Alyna, Sebastian, Noel, Adrian, Khloe, Sophia, Zoe y Layla; junto con numerosas sobrinas, sobrinos, primos, primas y amigos.

Precedido en muerte por su madre, Margarita Magallón Contreras; y su padre, Silvestre Mata Madrigal.

Humberto será recordado como un esposo, padre y “Pempa” para sus nietos como un hombre amoroso, cariñoso y humilde. Le encantaba la jardinería, la pesca y siempre estaba listo para un juegito de conquián. Por encima de todo, le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia. Tenía un gran corazón y apreciaba a cada miembro de la familia y amigos sin importar la distancia o el tiempo que pasaran separados. A Humberto siempre le gustó ayudar a los demás con cualquier situación que tuvieran, independientemente de su experiencia con diferentes temas. Siempre fue un hombre fuerte que estaba decidido a encontrar una solución a todos los problemas, grandes o pequeños. Su fuerza fue probada varias veces mientras luchó contra el cáncer durante los últimos nueve años de su vida hasta su último aliento. Su familia y los más cercanos a él siempre recordarán al increíble luchador que fue.

Se llevará a cabo una celebración de la vida de Humberto el sábado 3 de julio de 2021 con una visita en Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet a partir de las 2:00 p.m. hasta las 8:00 p.m. Será sepultado en el cementerio familiar en el Tulillo, Jalisco, México.
