John M. Dolosic

June 6, 1947 — August 10, 2022

John Michael Dolosic, age 75, at rest on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the Lightways Hospice Home after a courageous 4 year battle with cancer.

John is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathleen (nee Thomas); beloved children, Stephanie Pardy, James (Megan) Dolosic and Daniel Dolosic; five grandchildren, Ashley, Patrick, Grace, Logan and Clark; sister, Janice Conway; brother, Lawrence (Therese) Dolosic; several in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Clara (nee Szopinski) Dolosic; and twin sister, Joyce Dolosic.

John was born and raised in Joliet, living in Shorewood the past 35 years. He attended St. Mary Nativity Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School. John was a proud United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War 1968-1969. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and retired in 2002 after 36 years of service.

John enjoyed playing cards with his family, the Tuesday afternoon happy hour with friends at the American Legion Post 1080 and playing Euchre at the Woodbridge Clubhouse and the Croatian Cultural Club. John was an avid fisherman and golfer and had many longtime good friends.

A celebration of John’s life will begin on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 with a memorial visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
