Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the age of 82.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine Hlade and his brother Robert Hlade.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, four children; Gregg, Mark (Jana), Laura (Jim) and Ann (Steve), one brother, Joseph, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

John was very involved in local organizations as a member of the Kiwanis Club and Lion’s Club. John was a proud charter member of the Knights of Columbus in Rockford, IL. He was an administrator for local parks and recreation for over 35 years and was a leader in Illinois Association activities benefitting local Park Districts.

Per John’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

A celebration of John’s life will take place on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Mass being held at St. Mary Immaculate, 15629 South Route 59 in Plainfield, Illinois. Occupancy for Mass in church is 50 guests. Masks and social distancing practices are required.

Inurnment will follow and John will be laid to rest at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery in Plainfield, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in John’s name to a charity of the donor’s choosing would be greatly appreciated.
