John Verklan, or “JV” as most called-him, 57, passed suddenly from this world on September 22, 2021.
John, a loving husband, caring son, steadfast brother, fierce friend, and consummate tinkerer, was born on February 15, 1964, the first son of the late John Sr and Genell (Roark) Verklan. His family will remember him as a man’s man – if it involved the outdoors, made a lot of noise, or had a motor, JV was all-in. If he wasn’t in the garage working on something, you’d find him boating, fishing, snowmobiling, at target practice, 4-wheeling, grilling, or camping. The favorite uncle who had mini bikes and go carts, he loved to make others happy. A collector of anything mechanical, he loved to go to swap meets, perhaps making a few purchases, then fixing-up and selling (or trading) his latest find. JV’s garage always had tunes playing, cold beers in his fridge, and friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Dawn (Eddy); daughter, Rachael (Verklan-Cozzi) Comminos; mother, Genell; sisters, Lavern (the late Joseph) Hertz, Lisa (Matt) Johnson, and Mary (Ed) Friese; and brother, Gerald (Sherry). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
