Kathy S. (Gray) Gregory

Kathy Gregory

Age 72 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Care in Joliet with her family by her side.

Born December 11, 1949 in Joliet, Kathy was the daughter of Hershel and Barbara (Long) Gray. She was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from Joliet West High School with the class of 1967. Kathy worked as a bartender for Earl’s Restaurant for a number of years and then Al’s Steak House for the past 25 years. She was an avid NASCAR race fan and loved following the different teams and attending races whenever she could. You could also find Kathy at the area flea markets every weekend looking for a great deal and always making new friends. She will be remembered for her love of family and friends. Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son: Sean Karnes; grandson: Sean David Karnes; brothers: William (Kathy) Gray, Steven (the late Beth) Gray, Douglas (Susan) Gray and Donald (Maggie) Gray; sister-in-law: Dianne Gray, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents: Hershel and Barbara; brother: Richard Gray, and her husband: Jerry Gregory who passed away in 1991.

Per Kathy’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

Kathy was laid to rest next to her husband Jerry at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Joliet.
