Age 61 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.

Born October 28, 1959 in Fairbury, Illinois, Mary was a daughter of Lyle and Mary (Dohman) Vermilyea. Mary worked for the Illinois Secretary of State’s office for over 25 years. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose – Plainfield Moose Lodge #2491 and the “Men Who Cook” group which is part of the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center. In her free time, Mary loved spending time in the pool and was an avid reader. Her most treasured times were always spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary was a selfless, caring and thoughtful friend to everyone she met and would always go out of her way to make sure that you were taken care of. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her husband of 29 years, Mark See; daughter: Mary (Karl) Wilfinger; grandson: Quinn Frankovich; granddaughter: Brooke Wilfinger; daughter: Melanie Galioto; grandsons: William and Anthony Galioto; son: Jason (Brittany) Mannino; grandson: Enzo and Leonardo Mannino; sisters: Diane (Ulf) Olsen; brother: Larry (Martha) Zeller; sister: Linda Arquette and sister: Beth May, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son: Michael Mannino; parents: K. Lyle Vermilyea and Mary Teel, and brother: David Zeller.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. Due to a guideline capacity of 50 guests at the time of service, a livestream will be provided for those wishing to attend virtually. The link is located at the bottom of Mary’s obituary page. Masks and social distancing practices are required.

Per Mary’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
