Michael C. Briese

Michael C. Briese, age 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2022.

Mike was born May 13, 1951 in Joliet.  He attended St. Peter’s Lutheran school and graduated from Joliet Central High School.  He worked several jobs until he became disabled with Muscular Dystrophy.  He was a champion dart player and huge baseball fan.  Mike frequently attended the Joliet Jackhammers and Joliet Slammers games and was even the Jackhammer’s mascot at one time. Mike was on the advisory board for Joliet Public Housing and most recently on the resident advisory board at Lakewood Nursing and Rehab Center.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Clayton F. Briese; paternal grandparents, Paul and Freida Briese; sister, Susan Wilson; and nephew, Todd Wilson.

Survived by his aunt, Marnean (Donald) Briese; McDermott cousins, Dan, Nancy Martinucci, Ed, and Paul; Briese cousins, Judy (Jack) Fitzgerald, Fred, Sally, Craig and Ellen; numerous friends and the Lakewood family.

A celebration of Michael’s life will begin on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Per Michael’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Interment will be held privately at Elmhurst Cemetery.
